Our Programs
The Peter Harris Outreach Center has been committed to implementing interventions that are responsive to the realities of the most consistently marginalized and vulnerable people in our society. This approach is driven by the conviction that "meeting people where they are at" is essential for facilitating the successful activation of the potential of each individual. These programs have been directly shaped by the lived experiences of the people that The Peter Harris Outreach Center aims to impact and are continually being reshaped to remain responsive to the ever-evolving realities of the life of the formerly incarcerated.
REENTRY SUPPORT

The Reentry Support that we are currently offering consists of peer-to-peer support and counseling to facilitate the re-acclimation of clients--particularly those of whom are returning after a lengthy sentence. The counseling is structured around regular check-in meetings aimed at moving each client through a series of particular reintegration milestones.
ADDICTION RECOVERY

ENTREPRENEURSHIP SUPPORT

Through our Addiction Recovery Programming, we equip clients that are battling Substance Use Disorder with a variety of culturally responsive and evidence-based techniques, tools, and accountability mechanisms. We work closely with certified recovery consultants from our community to ensure that our clients have access to a range of modalities throughout their journey of sobriety.
Our team at the Peter Harris Outreach Center coordinates workshops and mentorship initiatives that aim to nurture the entrepreneurial talent that exists within the formerly incarcerated people in our neighborhoods. By acting as a liaison between our clients and city, state, and nongovernmental agencies, Peter Harris Outreach Center coordinates workshops and mentorship opportunities that aid the transformation of our clients' business ideas into functioning enterprises.
PARENTAL SUPPORT

Our counseling team helps manage the process of our clients reconnecting to their family members, with a particular focus on formerly incarcerated parents reconnecting with children in initial the months and years following release.

These supportive interventions are entirely tailored to the unique family dynamics, relationship histories, and obstacles (both external and internal) that each of our clients find themselves situated in with regards to their children.

These techniques and workshops are designed to be responsive to the experiences of people who have been incarcerated for lengthy sentences.
HOUSING JUSTICE

We are currently developing the capacity to connect future clients with housing opportunities by actively building a network with local housing advocates, homeowners, and relevant agencies as part of our capacity-building.
